America First/America Great/America Is All That Matters mentality has spread to UK with Brexit and the red wall Labour voters who voted for Johnson. It was a throwback, a hankering after the glory days of Britain and its independence with its own biggest and longest-lasting empire in the history of the world.
Labour needs to be educating these voters about the misrule, the misspending, the aggression and the massacres of those times. Of the centuries of British slavery and warfare that made us Great Britain in all the wrong ways and made us rich at the expense of the rest and even of our European neighbours.
Labour needs to be obsessed with climate justice and social justice, with greater fairness for low-income communities and the desperate need to cut spending on all greenhouse gas emitting products and projects, unless they can cut greenhouse gas emissions in the medium to long term.
Obsessed, too with the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals.
We must act, quickly to become frugal fossil fuel users to save humanity and all life on earth.
All the present politicians and VIPs don't have a clue how to respond to the climate emergency and to resource depletion. Our decision-makers are leading us up a blind alley.
