CHALLENGE TO MY MP TO SPEAK UP

 Dear James

As my MP, you have a huge responsibility to speak up for what you know to be right, my friend.

SPEAK UP BRAVELY to stop the conversion of our half-built mainline railway into a short tram line, VLR test track and an extended cycle-walkway between Stourbridge and Burton on Trent.

SPEAK UP FEARLESSLY to stop further climate-damaging, fossil fuel-guzzling, greenhouse gas spewing, Metro extensions and wasteful Sprint diesel buses.

SPEAK BOLDLY for all the sensible measures to slow the break up of our bus service into the city centre into foolish bus and tram.  Insist on fare-free public transport for all age groups and not just mine, in compensation for the tram causing a slower bus journey into Brum centre from Halesowen and Rowley Regis.

SPEAK CONSISTENTLY about the urgency to slow the consumption of finite resources with their greenhouse gases that are bringing floods and fires, as we inexorably turn earth into venus.

SPEAK LIKE ATTENBOROUGH - at COP 24 on 3 Dec 2018 in Poland, he said -
"Right now, we are facing a man-made disaster of global scale.  Our greatest threat in thousands of years.  Climate change.  If we don't take action, the collapse of our civilisations and the extinction of much of the natural world is on the horizon. ... Together, we can make real change happen  ... The world's people have spoken.  Their message is clear.  Time is running out.  They want you, the decision-makers, to act now.  They are behind you in making tough decisions.  But they are also willing to make sacrifices in their daily lives.

"Leaders of the world, you must lead.  The continuation of our civilisations and the natural world upon which we depend, is in your hands."
