Would there have been all this fuss if it had been Palestinian fans banned from supporting their side in the game against Aston Villa? I doubt it. One law for Israel, another law for Palestinians.
I would have liked the Chief Constable to have defended the decision to ban the Israeli fans more robustly. AI should never have been used. But that mistake was not worth the cost of early retirement for the taxpayers. He should have kept his job. The decision to ban was clearly the right one and that mattered most to save his job.
