The 1984/5 national coal miners' strike was before Mgt Thatcher was alerted to climate change from burning finite fossil fuels by Crispin Tickell who "is widely acknowledged as the man who persuaded Thatcher to adopt the climate cause, and was responsible for drafting much of her speech to the Royal Society" on 27 Sept 1988.
