"On the issue of connecting Dudley to Stourbridge Junction we do agree with you about the need to provide some form of co-ordinated transport between these two places. Our preference is for this to be rail based and eventually we would expect the tram service to do so, whilst retaining also the possibility of heavy rail usage. As an interim a VLR solution or even dedicated electric bus might be appropriate for some years so that connectivity was provided as soon as possible.
"I will certainly raise this with my committee when we next meet with a view to pursuing it with TfWM and/or WMRE."
Dr Stephen Wright
Railfuture – Chairman, West Midlands Branch
This makes it clear that, as was the case in the 20th century, Railfuture want heavy rail, light rail and very light rail or, whatever is on offer - nothing has changed!
