How do all you wise heads answer the statement from decades ago, "Either we get our numbers and our activities in line with the powers of the earth to support life or, collapsing ecosystems will do the job for us"? As we are all part of nature is this not a self-evident truth? I just hope I'm wrong and we can continue, as we are doing, to live it up to our hearts' content without restraint or restriction!

Is Covid one major kickback from Nature as we humans continue to expand and live in defiance of her?
Is Covid another warning that things are going seriously wrong with the way we run our affairs?
We have over-used and abused our relationship with animals. Used them for our food, forgetting we are animals, too and, sooner or later we would get our comeuppance. We have now.
That is why, I think, it is part of the Covid/Climate/Ecological/Nature crisis/emergency. We need to prepare for climates changing for the worse, as they have been doing for decades. Changing so decidedly that feeding and drinking will be questionable.
On top of this, we are as dependant on finite fossil fuels for food and drink as we are on other people. Trapped into a total dependency on something that is so precious, essential but most certainly will, one day, become in short supply.
"Either, we get our numbers and our activities in harmony with the powers of the earth to support life or, collapsing ecosystems will do the job for us." Green Party manifesto from the 70s or 80s.

Over-bearing, over-here and everywhere - and nature nowhere!
Yet, she did nothing to modify our behaviours that are threatening those ecosystems. Indeed, the problem is we are living unnaturally in a natural world and, we are part of nature. We are living infinitely in a finite world, convinced that money and energy grows on trees! We are living as God when the result is so far from God - so far from paradise.
We think we can increase our numbers infinitely and exponentially and that there will be no repercussions. Quite extraordinary!
A Green Party publication had: "Either, we get our numbers and our activities into harmony with the powers of the earth to support life or, collapsing ecosystems will do the job for us."
