TO DIRECTORS, CEOs, LEADERS

The Mayor and other elected representatives seem to be largely irrelevant.  The officers and Directors/Chief Execs/Leaders, in particular, seem to make these bizarre, eccentric decisions:-

  1. Accelerating the climate emergency by spending:
  2. £100s m being spent on bringing Metro trams to Merry Hill SC when it will completely obliterate the only public open space, nature and housing land there.

  3. Only £10s m, instead to be spent on connecting that same tram, from Dudley town on the existing/missing railway link ("of national strategic significance") to connect the tram to the national railway network at Stourbridge Jct.

  4. Low income people must have the £100s m spent on getting buses used by car commuters who clog up the roads and stop essential vehicle users from getting around on their legitimate business.

  5. Low incomes must have their homes insulated, made energy efficient and solar powered, like I have done with my home.

  6. ABANDON the 8 Metro lines, 150 miles of Metro trams costing £15 billion to 2040 (2020 figure)

  7. ABANDON Metro Eastside extension costing £144 m/Km when rebuilding a railway, only 8 years ago, through the Southern Uplands of Scotland cost £7 m/Km.

  8. ABANDON Metro Westside extension that destroys 1,000 trees and shrubs and front gardens between Edgbaston Village tram stop and Bearwood.

  9. £100s m have been wasted and have boosted climate catastrophe by thinking that cars, vans, lorries, offices, homes, factories must be run down even urban railway lines.  Top priority must be recovering trains/buses, NOT 1950s trams.

  10.  As a rough rule of thumb: Every £ spent is a pound in weight of dangerous greenhouse gas emissions emitted.
