Thanks so much for your reply that gives me your perspective that is so valuable.

However, I would love you to explain why you are funding and fostering war crimes and genocide, because of your firm military support for Israel in attacking its neighbours, instead of living in peaceful co-existence with them.

Peace comes through strength.  But this has manifestly NOT worked for Israel, Leslie!  NATO has ensured peace in Europe for 80 years,  NO!  It was the two Western initiated world wars, with their empires, that made them realise that they must NOT fight each other with conventional or nuclear weapons.  It has nothing to do with four of the Western countries having nuclear weapons.  They have decided to live in peace instead of war.  following wars when tens of millions of people died or suffered life-changing injuries. The UK has played a foremost role in maintaining that peace.

 

Israel is surrounded by enemies on all sides. It is fighting those who seek that Jews are driven to extinction from the river to the sea.  Likud's (in power in Israel) Charter says that ALL the land between the Jordan and the sea is theirs!  14 months of wiping out the Gazans is now giving them their ambition of taking over Gaza and the West Bank as well!  There was a perfectly good ceasefire The problem was that the Palestinians felt they were under the boot of their oppressor, Israel, STILL since 1948 when we Brits got out of Palestine after 30 years of failure under the British Mandate.  Unlike any other terrorists, we allowed the Jews to profit from terrorism and aggression by giving them Palestine as their State in 1948.  But Palestine was NOT an empty land.  "The bride is beautiful but she is already taken", reported the friends of Herzog after their visit to Palestine in the 1890s.  But that did not stop the Zionists from pursuing their claim to the land until they got it in 1948.  Thanks to the UK!    on 6 October last year and it was not Israel who broke it.

In this piece I am very critical of Labour but you good Conservatives/Reform UK are no better!

We Brits (and France) are to blame for the Middle East today, especially from 1917 to 1948. "Perfidious Albany", duplicitous Britain all helped the 1948 catastrophe for both Israel and Palestine continuing to this day. 

I am horrified by Labour's unprincipled, 100% support for the most ever, extreme right-wing, ultra-nationalist, Israeli government committing acts leading to genocide, under the guise of a righteous War of Self Defence that never ends.  With Labour supporting arms and ammunition to Iniquitous Israel and, fully supporting the American weapons going to Israel, still.  I cannot bring myself to vote for any of the parties.

I want a unity, Coalition government to urgently address the climate and resource shortages and other multi-crises.  Their first action should be to stop all arms and ammunition going from our shores.

LEGACY OF OUR NOT-SO-GLORIOUS EMPIRE

It is unheard of for ordinary Christian believers to condemn militarism, imperialism, displacement of peoples and to condemn aggression rewarded by the keeping of land as we have allowed the State of Israel to do for 76 years.  We don't allow other countries to be rewarded for land grabs but it's fine for our side to do it!
