I like this very much indeed. Bang on the ball. Well said, Richard.
I am also livid with £15 BILLION being planned to be spent up to 2040 to simply duplicate and replace bus routes and train services with 150 miles of Metro trams, plus Sprint. This kind of luxury, this kind of greed, this kind of accelerating the climate emergency is immoral. I would also say it is criminal behaviour - like the British Empire, the British slave trade and paying already very wealthy individuals (6 Commissioners), over £1,000 every single day to ensure that the poorest Brummies lose out yet further. The richer ones are having to dig deeper into their pockets but can afford it. The more needy cannot.
How can these six VIPs have the nerve to take so much off us taxpayers when it is the Brum people who will lose out as the six commissioners gain even more to add to their considerable wealth?
I would have applauded them if they were doing their commissioner work, voluntarily, out of the goodness of their hearts. For very many years, my own voluntary work, I think, is very necessary and serving the community, but I don't get any financial reward or even thanks, let alone success! Why should these happy six, very well-heeled dignitaries be any different?
How can they spend so much money AND, with a clear conscience?
