You say the current is weakening because of glacial melt from Greenland. This must be due to warming temperatures only partly offset by the "cold blob". Our planet is warming from our fatal addiction for burning finite fossil fuels. This has given us a fool's paradise, with the unfortunate downside for us humans of a runaway greenhouse effect. Exactly like our twin or sister planet Venus with its thick atmosphere of greenhouse gases. Venus is warmer than Mercury although it's further away from the sun than Mercury thanks to its runaway greenhouse effect. Courtesy of Wikipedia which can also be wrong, like me. I'll check!

May I ask why you both moved to Hafodowen?
Do I remember it was from outside Cambridge? Please correct me.
My wife and I have been in Halesowen for 50 years in the same small eco-house. Thus 3-4 kWh per day averaged out over a year, with gas done away with in 2023.
