Happy birthday, Andy! Have just seen this post from three years ago! I married Linda Verduyn in 1983. We have two youngsters in their 30s who are both expecting their first this month. My Christian faith is now centred on JC as my Master, Lord and exemplar, rather than Saviour. I attend Hasbury Christian Fellowship with Linda who keeps me on the straight and narrow but I am more on the road to broad-mindedness while staying on the narrow road as regards following JC in His life and teachings. I just love the JC of the Gospels!

Prince Charles on learning from Covid-19
Thanks very much, Heather. I think Prince Charles has the right idea.
I'm all for putting the health of the planet before ripping out its wealth with economic growth and growth of everything and everyone.
Ecology before economics.
Nature and protecting life support systems and the planet's biodiversity.
Spirituality and morality before expediency.
Politics must be about morality and non-violence, with constraint over coercion.
Nature/God at the centre of our societies.
During most of my adult life, I've moved away from evangelical Christianity with its emphasis on salvation. But towards living as a disciple of the Lord Jesus as shown in His life and teaching in the Gospels. That means all the left-wing things - others first, equality, justice and fair shares for all and sustaining life on earth for many more centuries.

All life is about politics
I think, John that all life is about politics. Every decision we make is a political decision. All pressure/lobby groups and individuals are doing politics when they want a change or decision here, there or wherever.
The church I still attend with Linda was happy with its building being used for a Halesowen and Stourbridge GP meeting in the 1990s. Only one member of the church council demurred. The leadership, I think, still see the JC of the Gospels as most definitely left of centre, as I do even more so!
