Four options for the unused (almost!) 5 Kms (3 mls) Stourbridge mainline railway to Brierley Hill to link with Metro
- Passenger trains are returned to this freight-only, double-track railway between Derby and Devon via Dudley. Trains from Snow Hill station to Canal St tram stop at Hart's Hill, via Stourbridge Jct. Canal St tram stop is on the railway line.
- "Bus on rails" Metro trams from the terminus at Cottage Street, Brierley Hill to Stourbridge Interchange (Town) by railway tracks on road.
- Stourbridge Shuttle on tracks on roads extended from Stourbridge Interchange (Town) to Metro terminus at Cottage Street. Favoured by Suzanne Webb MP and Mike Wood MP.
- "Bus on rails" Metro trams by road and freight railway line from Cottage Street tram stop to Stourbridge Jct station.
5. Commuter and regional trains reinstated with the station rebuilt at Wednesbury for trains to Walsall, Lichfield and Derby.
6. "Bus on rails" Metro trams extended from Wednesbury to Derby via Walsall, Lichfield and Burton on Trent.
