Question for Elizabeth Glinka, BBC 'Midlands Today'

MY QUESTION suggested for you!

Have you thought, Chancellor, not jobs at any price like HS2, Metro and Sprint with massive greenhouse gas emissions to gravely worsen the runaway greenhouse effect but, a Univeral Basic Income (UBI) scheme?  Paid for by the UK as one of the top ten richest countries out of over 200, to ensure every person in the land has the same monthly income that will ensure those basic human rights of adequate shelter, food and clothing?

Instead of money for projects, schemes, businesses and organisations, why not use that money to allow every citizen a decent standard of living with UBI?  Then, the individuals use that money to launch/kickstart their own businesses and enterprises to profit themselves and others.  Like the story of the talents in the New Testament.

The role of government is to warn of danger ahead, to educate and inspire and, to allow/help individuals to get us out of the graveyard humanity is digging for itself - the warning from scientists that we may be turning earth into our twin or sister planet venus.
