One legacy of Empire attitudes

One legacy of Empire attitudes:  The 76th Windrush anniversary on 22 June, of the arrival of the passengers of the Empire Windrush in the UK. The day celebrates the contribution and achievements of the Windrush generation and their descendants.

Such is our perverse thinking to this day, black and brown people are penalised by 2012 Home Secretary Theresa May with her hostile environment policy.

"It is a set of policies introduced in 2012 by then-Home Secretary Theresa May, with the aim of making life unbearably difficult in the UK for those who cannot show the right paperwork. Or, as she said at the time; “The aim is to create, here in Britain, a really hostile environment for illegal immigrants.”

PROMPTED THIS:
So frustrating and basic. For the 1000th time: renewables don’t replace fossil fuel unless that fossil fuel is separately constrained. Otherwise more renewables will always mainly mean more energy use. How can this concept not yet be grasped by all?
