A pertinent question re tram shuttle to finish mainline railway

Shuttling passengers by tram between two separate sections of a mainline railway - is not sensible

Should Metro trams and buses be used to link the two sections of a mainline railway?

Should Metro trams be used to shuttle passengers between the two ends of a railway "of national strategic significance" between Worcester and Derby?  Especially when all crossings for canals, roads and motorways are built.
