It must come down to individual, voluntary and glad restraint from our fossil fuel-rich lifestyles that are so unsustainable and greedy. And so short-lived, shortsighted, in fact, when you look at the geological time scale.
We've exploited finite fossil fuels as if there is no tomorrow and now find that they were a poisoned chalice; a forbidden fruit from which we should never have drunk so long and so deeply.
