There needs to be an understanding that Energy simply means exploiting, for all they are worth, very finite fossil fuels with the most unfortunate side effect we have known about for 200 years but blindly ignored!
CAPITAL is exactly the unbelievable folly of living off capital as if its income and assuming there will be something else out there when the capital minerals are all gone or too expensive to extract. Capitalism is deaf to the scientists who continue to warn that changing the chemical composition of the atmosphere by first adding and now accelerating the natural greenhouse effect is exactly what may well have happened to our sister and twin planet venus to make it uninhabitable.

Enslaved blacks by our ancestors and ourselves enslaved to oil, gas and coal!
A thoroughly despicable business. It brought the nation wealth beyond measure. Just as the exploitation of finite fossil fuels has also done. The first, cruelty and death to Africans and the second bringing our own ecocide. Rapidly in the snail-like geological time scale!
