This is excellent stuff. Please add that HMG and regional governments, too, must oppose the renaissance of tramways in three out of four countries in the UK.
They are adding to the £3 trillion deficit and high interest rates to pay back these loans.
They are replacing buses and trains when it is these modes that must have the money to boost their use and to finish the conversion to electric.
And trains back on the remnant of remaining railway lines in the UK.
Remember that the tram is a highly extravagant/greedy "bus on rails" (UK tram promotion group in 2016 at the time of the Croydon tram crash).
The money saved must go for regional Fare-Free Public Transport and English free buses which I have had for 18 years (I'm now 78).
And the money used to entice/bribe car commuters out of their tin boxes onto public transport, as here:
