As a deep Green and lifetime member of FoE from the 1980s, my own feeling is that rather than multi-modal public transport, meaning trams, which is all the rage in Edinburgh, Nottingham, West Midlands, West Yorkshire, Cardiff and Croydon, we need a first class bus and train service, with trains using the surviving railway lines and not trams, as is happening. Plus FFPT = Fair-Free Public Transport.
