Mia Grace, Acorn

Dear Mia

Thanks for the email about our conference that mentioned "understanding how we can solve the housing crisis."

We can help solve the housing crisis by putting apartments and blocks of 3 storey town houses for the most badly housed on the 22,000 sq m at High Plateau, owned by the owners of Merry Hill Shopping Centre in Brierley Hill DY5 1SH

I believe this land was made available in the 1990s when the canal was straightened, as in this plan

However, it is still not used for low cost, energy efficient, highly insulated, solar powered, 1/2 bedroom apartments for owners/tenants without cars.  I am getting nowhere with the authorities who are not interested.  The land has been available for housing but wasted for over 20 years.

I am a member of Birmingham Acorn branch but their officers will not touch any matter outside of the Birmingham City Council boundary.

Can you help or advise, please?
